Delaney Dispatch (August 1, 2019)

                Delaney Dispatch

August 1, 2019

Dear Neighbor,

July 30th of this year marked the 400th anniversary of the first meeting of the General Assembly in Virginia. 400 years ago, leaders of the eleven major settlements in Virginia met and set democracy in America into motion.

Virginia is historic. We are home to the longest continuous serving legislature in the Western Hemisphere but along with this proud legacy is the fact that as our democracy was born, the first enslaved Africans were brought upon the same shore. On this 400th anniversary, we commemorate our past, acknowledging the travesties as well as the virtues, and contemplate how we can continue to grow. Virginia is the land of great leaders and change, and we host both a rich and dark history. As we continue our legacy of hosting the old legislature in our hemisphere, we need to evolve and improve in order to obtain a more perfect union.

As your House Delegate, I will continue to fight to obtain a better and more equitable Virginia. I will be here to ensure that all are heard in the Virginia legislature and that Virginia remains a land of opportunity.

As always, I am here to help you and hear your concerns, comments or questions. Do not hesitate to contact me at 703-996-9415 or

Best Wishes,

Since my election, I have used my official title to bring about true and needed change for the Northern Virginia Region. As your state official, I have helped secure protections for local residents, small businesses, advocated for our transportation and infrastructure needs and I have put the people of our district before politics.
This event will be nonpolitical and will simply allow the residents of the 67th District to know me personally and learn more about current issues in our community. It would be great to meet with you and hear how I can better serve you and advocate for our community's needs. I hope you can join me for one of my upcoming events!
