Changes to Virginia Taxes:

As you are aware, the Tax Jobs and Cuts Act of 2017 was signed into law by President Trump in December.  This law makes many changes to the Tax Code effective January 1, 2018.  An element of this law was to reduce income tax withholding.  Our payroll system implemented the new tax tables in February.

The Internal Revenue Service is recommending that all American taxpayers review their withholding for accuracy. The Tax Calculator on the IRS website will help you with this review.  It will be helpful to have your completed 2017 tax returns handy when completing the Calculator.  You can read more about the Commonwealth's conformity to IRS revenue code and changes in Virginia Income Tax Returns by clicking here

Commonwealth Transportation Board Meeting: The Commonwealth Transportation Board will be conducting a public meeting on April 30th at 5:30 PM at VDOT Northern Virginia District Office Potomac Conference Room (4975 Alliance Drive Fairfax, VA 22030).
